Swindon Stargazers met on 23rd March with a group of Scouts and their leaders from 12th Swindon (Old Town) Air Scout group for a 'Stargazing' event at Highworth Community Center. As is often the case the weather was awful but there was a backup 'cloudy weather' programme.

Paul Newton-Smith had set up the room with his range of different telescopes for the Scouts to look at and also his collection of meteorites and Apollo mission memorabilia. Malcolm Woods did a presentation provided by Damian O'Hara called "Young Astrophotographers" showing what can be achieved from using a smart phone through to full blown astro imaging equipment.

Rob Slack brought along his reflector and provided a slide show whilst the Scouts enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits at the end of the event. Typically the skies started to clear as the Scouts had to head home!
